Foundation Inspection
The perimeter of your home is visually inspected for exterior signs of foundation movement. The most common types of foundation movement are differential settlement, tilting and upheaval.
Typical signs of foundation movement are: brick cracks, fascia board separation, brick separation from doors and window casings, deflection in grout lines of brick veneer and fractures in the foundation.
Next we inspect the interior of your home for signs of foundation distress. Some of the most notable signs are sloping floors, drywall cracks and doors not closing or fitting within their frames.
A Stanley Compulevel or Zip-level is used to determine if foundation movement is within industry accepted tolerances.
Once the inspection has been completed we can determine if any work is needed. An explanation is given at the time of the inspection of recommended repairs (if necessary).
The Structural Engineer's report is typically ready the next business day which will include conclusions and recommendations to remedy the foundation problem.
The report can be used to obtain bids from foundation repair companies and to obtain city permits if necessary.
We offer next business day Engineer's reports in most cases.
Our report includes:
•Description of structural defects observed during the inspection
•Conclusions and recommendations to remedy your foundation problem.
•Sketch showing recommended repairs and relative elevation survey.
•Factors effecting the performance of your foundation
